DECnet Host Software Installation
Phase IV Only:
Phase IV installation continues with the following steps to enter the
printer node name and address.
1 The program next prompts you for the printer node name:
* Enter a node name for the QMS printer:
Enter the node name of the QMS printer you’re updating.
» Note:
Be careful not to end the node name with a single colon (:).
Otherwise, the symbiont will assume a port connection.
2 The program next prompts you for the printer node address:
* Enter an address for the QMS printer:
Enter the address of the QMS printer you’re updating.
3 Once you have specified a node name and address, the pro-
gram asks you to verify your selections:
* Accept name
node_name
and address
address
?
Press Enter if the displayed
node_name
and
address
are correct.
If you want to change them, type N.
4 If you want to reallocate the node name and/or address to
the printer being installed, type Y at the next two prompts:
*
node_name
already exists, use it anyway [NO]?
If the node address specified is found in either of the volatile or
permanent databases, the following prompt displays:
*

5 Once you’ve specified the node name and address, the
installation program checks them against the network con-
trol database. If the name and address are valid, the program
displays
