Disabling a
Printer Interface

Disabling a Printer Interface
Each interface on the printer is active at all times. If you want to deac-
tivate any interfaces that you do not use (preventing access to the
printer from those interfaces), you may do so from the printer control
panel.
1 If the printer is on line, press the Online/Offline key. Press
the Menu key to open the printer Configuration menu.
2 Press the Next key until the message window displays
ADMINISTRATION and press the Select key.
3 Press the Next key until the message window displays COM-
MUNICATIONS and press the Select key.
4 Press the Next key until the message window displays the
interface you want to disable and press the Select key.
5 Press the Next key until the message window displays MODE
and press the Select key.
6 Press the Next key until the message window displays DIS-
ABLED and press Select.
7 Press the Online/Offline key.
8 Cycle the printer off and back on.
Repeat these steps for each interface you want to disable.
Dataproducts Printing
When using the Dataproducts option, set the Administration/Commu-
nications/Parallel/Data Bits menu to 7 Bits. If it is set to 8 Bits, your
data will not print correctly.
